Question LAGUNA III 2.0T 205 and dCi 150

After driving my Laguna for nearly 3 years it's nearly time for change. I've done some research picked what I like and compared.
-Accord EX GT diesel manual
-Volvo S80 D5 Sport auto
-Laguna III GT
All of them 3-4 yrs old available under 10k

Volvo - too big, expensive to run
Honda- cool car, but still not "the one"
Renault- well, You get everything You could imagine for price of a car, it's quick, insurance is cheapest, service is cheapest, still neat looking family car, and has 130k warranty, BUT looses most value

Now Renault has learnt on L II's and has built L III
together with Nissan (floorpan, engines suspension)
except for 2.0T 205HP

And that engine interests me the most. It has been fitted in LIIP2 GT. Is it any good? If not then I'll go
for 150HP diesel.

I'd like to know Your opinions and experience on both
dCi150 and 2.0T205
Any faults? Trouble with servicing?

Thanks a lot

The Laguna 3 GT had the Dci 180 engine in it - awesome engine.

I'd probaly take a diesel. A powerful petrol Laguna would be worth very little a few years on.

Here's a real heavy-hitter that falls well within your budget;

My E-class has the same engine, and thats a real rocket - this lighter car will be awesome for a diesel.

Mercs wear their age & mileage well, so should be worth a good bit come trade in time, plus there's no cambelt to change.

This job should never be complete - the day I think I've done it all, is the day I resign.

Re: LAGUNA III 2.0T 205 and dCi 150

my lag II has the 2.0dci 150bhp engine that the newer lag III has, and i have to say, what a great engine

mine is an ex fleet car, and has now done 128,000 mile, and still drives like new, ive also trawled the forums, and cant find anyone that has had a problem with this engine, and so far, ive not had a single problem, also, it has a cam chain, so no costly cambelt changes

its not quite as good as fuel as i expected, but still returns 40+ mpg, i do short drives to work so cant really expect much better, but if i drive like an old woman on a longer drive, i can get 55+

road tax is reasonable at 155 a year, and it goes pretty well, when i put my foot down, and if you have it remmaped, you can easily get it to 190bhp
