What to do for the best? part-ex or repair?

Hi all
New to this forum and I am in a pickle at the moment with what to do for the best.
I have a Renault Scenic 1.6 16v sport model which is X reg with under 80,000 on the clock. Ive spent over 400 getting it thro- its MOT a few months back and just a week later the clutch went! another 260 later.
The front drivers side brake sticks now and again..which Ive had a friend look at it twice with no luck in fixing it. Also a few weeks back the engine management light came on and the engine seemed to judder and splutter a bit. This went off after a few days and hasn't come back on since (thankfully).
I do like the Scenic but is it time to cut my losses? I am hoping the tax man is going to be nice to me within the next couple of weeks so I may have around 1500 to spend on another car or get the Scenic sorted out.
Ive looked at the Clio diesels and might possibily think about getting one of these.

What do better minds than mine with car problems think?

Personally speaking, I'd probably be inclined to trade it in. 1500 can buy a reasonable car, or can quickly get swallowed up by a couple of repairs - on a car worth around half that amount (even if its fully-functional).

The best time to sell a car is just before it starts costing lots - looks like that point is pretty imminent.

This job should never be complete - the day I think I've done it all, is the day I resign.
