Please tell more about Alternator clutch.
Just changed my Aux belt, whilst off ran it, whine gone, spun idler, tensioner, alt & PS pump to locate the source. The idler was removed, the seal pulled back with a penknife blade & Motorcycle spray chain grease injected. Noise 50% reduction & amazingly, after only 30 miles done since, the economy has gone up by 0.4 MPG. PS pump still whines however. Identified with a screwdriver handle up against the ear bone & the sharp end on the pump, works like a stethoscope.
