Just seen a Clio 1.9Dti (rare beasty). The drive belt partially shredded which kept slapping against the timing belt cover causing a sharp shard of metal to break off and rattle about inside the top of the timing belt casing! The timing belt was also partially severed slapping on the inside of the casing as well! The owner drove it around like that for 2 weeks and got a way with it...

just had it in the garage, felt a bit of a pillock, man says its meant to do that, its just the tensioner, all belt and pulleys operating fine, so i worried for nothing thansk for all the advice
