I'm very tempted by a Grande Espace 3.5.
I'm not fussed about MPG, as since getting rid of my Scenic I'm in a Volvo 940 LPT auto getting 23 to 25mpg. I'm of the opinion that with a Nissan engine and autobox that this'd be the best reliability bet, the performance and noise is just a massive plus
My Scenic was a last of line 2003 and below is what i liked/disliked.
Feeling of peace and relaxation just sitting in it
Sliding back row of seats
Rust bubbles where seatbelts hit rear arches
Seats not comfortable, lacking support, or armrests
Odd driving position when combined with manual gearbox, causing neck pain.
Lousy suspension. I swear it was made of metal boxes filled with lego, as it was jittery and noisy although you could chuck it about.
In short, I prefer heavy lux/exec/4x4 vehicles. It seems to me that a post 2006 GE would solve all of those problems....or am I wrong.
My Scenics reliability wasn't bad really, never broke down.
I want to buy for the next 10 years, so whats anyone got to say on the late Espaces particularly the 3.5.
Are they a mumsy?
Ps also tempted by a Landcruiser 4.7 V8 with LPG but thats much older and a bit scruffy.
