Hi everyone well I am a bit confused, I am veiwing a scenic 2 1.5 dci tomorrow. Can anyone give me some pointers, what to look for?

I am just cautious of them, as to reliability.

Its one of two choices the other a Picasso.

Cheers Martin

Re: Confused

I don't really know anything in particular regarding that model scenic so would advise you to check it's got a good service history and check the seats and pedals for sturdiness and wear and tare and check the oil for any mayo as that's never a good sign and make sure it fires up from cold and that the brakes are keen in use and not spongy as that could mean problems with the servo or knackered brake fluid and a sure sign of worn shoe or leaking brake cylinders is having to pull the hand brake right up and i'm sure some of the other members can give you some better pointers than i but always go by your gut feeling and not your heart lol .

Re: Confused

Welcome to the forum

Check that the dash is functioning properly, common problem, and Renault will cover most of the cost if it goes.

Some of the 1.5's have had an issue with sticking piston rings, I'm sure that a quick forum search will bring up a few threads on the subject. With proper maintenance this shouldn't be an issue
