Re: warranty works and extended warranty

I too have had experience of Warranty works and like Ex says above they try and wriggle out of claims all the time (ie if its not broken / snapped they wont pay out). I think in the 2 years I had the warranty I didnt manage to get them to pay for anything, mind you that was on the Mondeo so not much went wrong with it.

I remember having a decent warranty once from Motorcare on the Lag II when I bought it and they would pay out for most things. I think they paid out for a coil spring, clock spring, air con compressor to name a few, so that was worth its money.

These days I dont bother, and just try and set money aside for repairs as and when they happen.

Re: warranty works and extended warranty

I'd go with the AA as well. I have had a few dealings with them and they have always been fine.
Alternatively, buy a copy of What Car magazine and have a look at their warranty scheme. A car magazine that specialises in sticking up for the hard-done motorist can hardly afford to screw up with a poor warramty scheme and they would never risk any adverse publicity, so you should be fine.
