In all fairness, it isn't the manufacturer who rates the fuel economy or emissions, but rather tha Department of Transport, who drive it on a rolling road following a pre-determined series of inputs. Therefore, aerodynamics don't even enter the equation.
So your gripe is really with the Government, not the manufacturer.As they have failed to take your specific journey route into account when testing each car.
You may question the validity of such tests, well, they are better than nothing, and allow a fair basis for comparison, as all cars are subjected to the same scruitiny.
I lost count of the number of times when I was a customer services manager for Ford, that I've answered this type of 'complaint'.
This job should never be complete - the day I think I've done it all, is the day I resign.
