Electric Window Warranty Issue

Hi,I'm new here and I'm looking for a bit of advice. I bought a pre-reg 1.9 Megane,it is the last of the mk2(registered 12th April 2010). Just before Christmas the N/S/F window stopped working. I left it until last week and got in touch with the Renault dealer from whom I bought the car and they said they wanted me to pay 25 percent of the 500.00 repair bill.I told them I was not prepared to pay,it should be under warranty, they where going to look into it and get back in touch, needless to say 10 days on and still no word! So before I go down there to deal with them direct I want to get my facts right,so my issue is how long is the manufacturers warranty,am I right in thinking it is 3 years and it is transferrable and should this still be covered under the warranty.
Any advice would be much appreciated.Cheers.

Re: Electric Window Warranty Issue

hi and welcome to the forum

check all your paperwork!
get in touch with Renault UK customer services to establish what warranty you have and liabilities on such costs if any with repairs. if there is warranty on the car they will contact the dealership(of your choice!) and tell them to do the repair without charge on a repair order code issued by them.

if the local dealership is being difficult (there are web pages online with some pretty daming reports on practices by some dealerships, who are not interested in aftermarket customer service unless they are making additional profit out of customers, hopefully those dealerships will be among the ones being cut from the franchise chain this next year.)

you may-well/should be able to take the car to another dealership for repairs to be completed.

not all dealerships are equal, some will bend over backwards to keep the customer happy, my local ones in east anglia certainly do.

do keep records of what was discussed incase you have to escalate the problem to trading standards.

snippit from a cliosport forum:

Customer Services
Please call our freephone number to speak to a Customer Services consultant on 08000 72 33 72

Alternatively, please write to:

there is also Renault Service Advisor that is a member on here that can escilate any problems you may have.

Im sure some other more senior members can give better advice, one is bound to be along shortly.

Re: Electric Window Warranty Issue

Cheers Mord,I knew I'd come to the right forum.
The fact they haven't bothered to give me a follow up call is such poor customer relations,so yes I will gladly contact Renault UK.
Thanks again
