Renault clio 12.8v 2002 nightmare

Hi all, sorry if this has been spoke about already but my clio has got me to the stage where i might have to burn it. I keep getting a glitch that causes the rev to go up and down and disables the throttle pedal. I have had a brand new throttle body fitted by renault. I have examined the wiring loom extensivly and checked and cleaned all connections. The throttle pedal when opened seems to look ok but has not been replaced. I am a mechanic but have never struggled so much to cure an intermittant fault. My fault code reader shows no codes. Please help

Re: Renault clio 12.8v 2002 nightmare

if there are no faults logged then its a mechanical fault.
check the 2nd lamda sensor, along with trying to get hold of a spare throttle pedal to just plug in to test with.
also the TDC sensor, and if you have it the dephaser pully(though you will have knocking when starting from cold)
a odd spare sensor for most of the plug in ones on the top of the engine comes in handy.

of it could just be a corroded ECU (inside the casing?)

Re: Renault clio 12.8v 2002 nightmare

To update my previous post, i have replaced the throttle pedal and this didnt cure the fault. When i wiggle the wires to the ecu the butterfly valve on the throttle goes beserk, could this relate to the original fault? problem is i dont know when it is the connections or the actual ecu ,

any ideas?
