Bio Diesel in my Renault?

Question......has any body used or know someone that has used bio diesel in their Renualt, I have a 53 Laguna 2.2 dci. Is it compatable for use with bio diesel?

Next Question. Does anybody know of any reason why it shouldn't be used with the Renault Diesel cars?

Thanks for any info forthcoming

Carl I know not the answer, but knowing how delicate the dCi engines are, I'd always try to test it out on some other s car first.

Re: Bio Diesel in my Renault?

On some cars the fuel system components such as the plastic and rubber bits just don't like the bio stuff.

VW's also suffered some problems in that respect.

I suggest you contact Renault for a definitive answer.

I take you are referring to bio diesel that complies with the relevant BS standard, etc.

Re: Bio Diesel in my Renault?

I know my old Skoda can use it fine with no modifications, the fuel filter needs to be replaced more often, (about every 4,500 miles) but other then that it's fine. I am tempted to try it in my Scenic 1.9 Dci but it isn't quite right on normal diesel t the moment so until I have it running sweet I won't swap just yet.
