I have seen numerous wheel bearings seize without showing any obvious play or wear when you shake the wheel.
Try jacking the suspect side up securely and well propped. Start the engine stick it in 3rd gear and let out the clutch and see if there is any wird noises.
It is not uncommon for lowered cars to be hard on wheel bearings as the springs don't absorb the knocks and bumps to the same extent as normal soft type suspension - thus the wheel bearings take more vibration from the road. Plus the big nut holding the drive-shaft in the bearing will have been disturbed during the sfhaft change.
