Newbie with key issues!!!

Hi people,

I have a megane 2003 1.9dci. But I have a big problem. The car has not been driven for a couple of months and the battery has died....not a problem. But it has also stopped the key fob working....not a problem until I drop the emergency key down a drain...then cannot find the spare as we have just moved!!!!! Aaaahhhh!!!! Any way of getting in to the car apart from the obvious of breaking a window? Can we get in to the bonnet area to jump the car etc?
Sorry if this posted in thw wrong place. Hope u guys can help,

ok your fob needs re-syncing I'm guessing, my Clio had the same problem the battery died and my fob stopped working it just needed re-syncing and hey presto, first of all your saying you cannot enter the car at all? coz if that's the case then well you cant re-sync a key without being inside the car lol :P you need to find your spare key or go drain hunting :P

Re: Newbie with key issues!!!

Yeah the central locking doesn't work because the battery is dead, and the emergency key went for a swim - so he can't get into the car

The idea is to get into the car to open the bonnet and access the battery for recharging or to jump start the car. Then central locking with the fob should work again as well.

Can you see the key at the bottom of the drain? If so then maybe use one of those extendable magnet or grabber tools to get it out.

Other than that, I think you will have to get creative if you want to get into your car without a key mikeyboy

Or start going through your removal boxes to find the second key
