Lightbulb Looking for advice

I am really new to this forum. I have had a 2005 Megane cc2.0t before, but it got stolen.

Now i'm looking to buy the same car, but with a Diesel engine. My main problem is deciding if i should buy the 1.9 or the 2.0 dci.
is this the appropriate place to ask such a question? If its not, please point me in the right direction!

Thanks a lot in advance!

Re: Looking for advice

Hello Zoltan, and welcome.

Personally, I would suggest going for the 2.0l rather than teh 1.9l, as a forum search will display many/frequent/costly problems with the 1.9, which the 2.0 seems to have less of.

This can be attributed to more advanced engineering, coupled with more realistic servicing intervals introduced for the 2 litre.

Sorry to hear of your previous car being stolen.

This job should never be complete - the day I think I've done it all, is the day I resign.

Ditto. Go for the 2.0dci as they are much more reliable and and also have a timing chain as opposed to a belt.

Thanks a lot guys, this just made my search a lot harder!
I was hoping you'd say it doesnt matter, as there are no differences in acceleration or fuel economy.
As a side note, do you happen to know if there are any mechanical differences between the different versions of the 2.0 dci? I mean the 150,160,170 hp versions? Or is it just a question of remapping it? Or should i go and ask that in the tuning forum?

Thanks a lot again
