Thumbs up Breakdown Services........Brilliant AA

My Trafic van completely died on me a couple of days ago when driving along the road!! Turned the ignition key and ...NOTHING. Had no option but to call on the AA. The patrolman turned up withing 50 minutes, was very knowledgable on his fault finding, and spent time making a proper permanent repair (turned out to be the previous owners inept wiring!) rather than just restarting the engine so I could reach the nearest garage.
I've only used them three times in the last 7 years and they have been BRILLIANT all times.
I definitely recommend the AA to everyone.
Just wish I knew where to get one of their special probes was ace for checking all the electrics and starting the engine!

Can't disagree with anything you've experienced.

So much more of a service than my last provider who shall remain nameless, but decided that having a broken leg did NOT impede me from riding my motorcycle home, and wanted a fax from the hospital's A & E department to state otherwise...

This was after telephone conversations between them and a Policeman, and a Paramedic...

Needless to say, I never did renew.

This job should never be complete - the day I think I've done it all, is the day I resign.

Re: Breakdown Services........Brilliant AA

I had reason to use the AA recently when travelling back from France. We had just made it to this side of the water when I had a cam belt failure, well tensioner actually.

We used the relay service and I can not praise them enough. They took my car and family all the way from Ashford in Kent to Coventry. They were friendly and so helpful. The last driver even helped me push the car back onto my drive, which is uphill.

They did say that they rarely fix faults at the side of the road these days due to the complexity of modern cars.
Because of this I would urge anyone with AA cover to check that they have Relay cover and upgrade if necessary. Its the best money you will ever spend.

Re: Breakdown Services........Brilliant AA

Ive only used them once within the last couple of years when the clutch went on the Mondeo. To be honest my experience wasnt the best.

The guy was out of his normal area so didnt know the roads etc and took a while to find me. Then whilst towing my car to the garage as he didnt know the area / roads he was relying on the sat nav in his van (which didnt seem to work properly) and went right through Nottingham city centre when he didnt have too. He ended up pulling over as he was so lost and I had to tell him which way to go.

He also didnt have to much respect for my car. When popping the tow bar screw hole cover out of the bumper he ripped it out of the bumper off the retaining wire that stops it getting lost. Needless to say I wasnt too impressed.

Mind you, Im still a member as we get a deal through work.
