Modus diesel. man vs auto?

I have a manual diesel modus which I really like.
Driving around carefully I get somewhere between 55 and 60 mpg. I'm thinking of getting a slightly newer version and have found one I like but it's a diesel auto. Is it likely to be similar in MPG terms?

Probably not depending on the type of auto box being used.

I'd carefully consider the type of journeys you are likely to use the car for; the auto will be a convenience in town driving, but not bring anything new to the table once you are ona a-class roards and above.

It's also adding to the complexity of the car, so again, worth bearing in mind.

If it's the semi-automatic QuickShift, then the consumption should be similar to a manual box - we get an average of 60+mpg in mixed journeys
