Renault Espace 1.9 dCi Authentique 5d (2003/53)

hi all, i'm new here, hoping to get some advice on a potential purchase!

I have been offered a Renault Espace 1.9 dCi Authentique 5d (2003/53) 1870cc for 1450. It has done 94k miles (cam belt change at 73k). Apparently the vehicle has a rear seat missing (doesnt bother me, im a street performer and plan on removing them all anyway), a faulty heater blower (i'd imagine a fuse but not sure), a noisy wheel bearing and an illuminated abs light. none of this sounds like much to be afraid of to me?

However, the reviews I have read are pretty awful. Many saying these cars are so unreliable (mainly electrics) and parts very expensive. is this correct?

I absolutely love the look fo them, and it would be perfect for my lifestyle. However, I naturally cannot afford regular and or big mechanic bills, nor can I afford unreliability.

I was wondering whether there is anything in particular I should look out for and whether anyone has any experience of owning this model.

any help is hugely appreciated, thanks in advance!

Have you Googled "2003 renault espace common faults"?
that'll give you a starting point. Older fibergalss bodied Espace were certainly an electrical nightmare as there had to be a ring earth You dont say how much tax and MOT is on the car but the wheel bearing is an MOT failure and will need fixing ASAP. Some wheel bearings are integral to brake discs so you could cover teh wheel bearing and ABS issue in one if u are lucky.
Heater blower could be a problem if its not a fuse and is fan motor itself whole dashboard has to come out. Not a job for an amateur or anyone without a garage big enough to work on car with both doors fully open.
ABS light is usually because the brake disks have corroded and the little cut outs in the brake disks the ABS sensor checks movement against have filled up with rust & dirt. Occasionally ABS sensors fail but more than likely it need a new set of disks and pads all round.
I too love the Espace but if running costs and reliability are an issue then you might be better shopping around a bit before making a decision. Good ones are great but they have to have come from a good home and have a good service history. There is however plenty not so good ones out there.
Thinking back upholstry was also an issue with the Espace -leather no problem but front fabric seat covers wear out around the sides from the getting in and out motion. Once cover holes and foam is unprotected seat quickly falls apart. After market seat covers dont do job as cover is integral part of seat structure and stitched through foam into seat chassis.
PArts can be sourced at reasonable prices but its labour costs that are a bigger problem with garages charging minimum 25 per hour and min fee is 1 hours labour.
