Hey there, dont know whether anyone can possibly help me at all, I have a problem with my renault clio 172. I put my car in at the garage as the throttle supposedly needed replacing because the revometer and speedometer wasnt working properly and the car was lacking power and idling while stationary. I have now had my car back and appears to be doing the same thing where it;

1/ lacks power on acceleration wont go quicker than 20mph,
2/ reving so that the car feels like it is accelerating while pressing the brake,
3/ idling while stationary,
4/ speedometer and milage counter do not work when this problem occurs. While driving at any speed limit the speedometer reads 0mph and when it does work it jumps around all the time not reading an accurate reading.

If you could help i would be very appreciative.

Hello and welcome to the forum.

Sorry you haven't had any responses to your question,but I have to admit I'm not sure what could cause all the faults to happen.

Are there any warning lights illuminated on dash board when this happens?

Have you had an ECU fault code reading done?

I'd rather push my Alfa than drive a BMW....

hey thanks . .

I have had the report done twice in one month,first report said there was no faults but they replaced my throttle and told me it had all been fixed, I then got my car back drove to work and 1/2 way back which is about 20miles and the same things happened the engine management light comes on along with the electrics management light which is 2nd row up in the centre of the dashboad with a funny zig zag line. The car went back to the garage on friday where they have picked up 6 faults but cant locate them its just a bit frustrating knowing that i have had my car no more than a month and the majority of the time its been in the garage! I am just waiting for them to report back to me with the problem. . .
