Renault or manufacturer approved parts.

I use an independant garage and they tend to use renault parts anyway and they have year gaurantee. eg timing belt, clutch etc

I've found it pays to provide your own oil which meets car manufacturer standards.

I once got stung (during the warrenty period) by a Vauxhall dealership charging the per litre bottle price as sold in their accessory shop for GTX oil rather than the 5l bottle price. They overfilled it & charged me for the priviledge (but thats another story).

I ALWAYS supply the oil now - usually Castrol RS or Mobil-1. Often get told "it doesn't need that" but why not if its cheaper than the dealer provided oil !

Currently in John J's garage:
Family car - 2004 3.0dCi Grand Espace. Fun car - Calibra 4x4 Turbo

many years ago when i worked for a car dealership, the yts lads (me)did all the servicing, 6,000, 12,000 18,000 etc. because all that is needed is oil and filter change, fuel filters etc visual inspection only of brakes (no wheels off)
1/2 hours labour easy money for the garage, 30 a week for the yts
