Grand Scenic Advice

Hi All,

We have had a brand new grand scenic 2010 1.5dci on lease through my company and even though we have a had a few issues the renault dealer has sorted them out. The car is about to come off lease and we have been offered it for 7k including a 12 month warranty. The car has only got 17k miles on it as a car its great.

Im after a bit of advice about reliablity and common faults, I know renaults have had a bad rep in the past but is that behind them. Whats the cost of servicing like on them. Any feeback positive or negative will be greatly appreciated.

Re: Grand Scenic Advice

I don't think there are any particular issues with the grand scenic other than the old chestnut that it's a renault and there may be electrical gremlins in the future. I've owned lots of renaults and have never had any real bother with any of them. You have a distinct advantage with your car, in that you have been in possession of it from new- you know it's history and what has been done with it, how it has been driven and serviced. that in my book is a big plus. I can only presume because you are considering buying it, that there have been no major issues. The only gripe i hear with the 1.5dCi is that it is a bit underpowered in certain circumstances and that the economy is nowhere near as good as the advertised rates, which is why I went for the 1.9. At 7k, it looks like a bargain, with most at retail being colser to 10k.
