Yeah Clutch was my first thoughts too.

However I think you ought to be speaking to Trading Standards or Citizens Advice too, as there seems to be something fishy going on here. May be that there is something that can be done for you that way and allow you to either get repairs done free or even walk away. You may even find out that it's not leased and you are actually buying it on HP.

Forgive my lack of brains but what's DLA????

Auto's you very rapidly get used to them.
There can be some power/economy loss on older cars, but modern autos have like paddle shifts ,n tiptronic can even improve accelleration times over manual.
Currently in coup's garage:
RM III coupe 1.5dci FVT,Audi TT Mk1 ,a bike and too much rubbish.

Same here...only ever had to replace a clutch cable and one clutch (214 Si that the previous owner had driven like it was a 220...after 3 months of me owning it, packed up, worn out on both sides...not by me, not enough time to manage that )

Cheers everyone , i am going to try trading standards and see if they can do anything as under the goods for sale act it has to be fit for purpose , well due to all thats gone on and the company that originally sold it doing a bunk , i might be able to cut my losses and return it , fingers crossed as i have had enough , even if i can get it so i don't pay repairs be a win
