Keycard holder

Just wondering how people carry their keycards when not being used? I've got a little plastic keyring clip I bought from ebay that my card slots into, so I don't have to detach it from my keys when I insert it into the reader. However, after a couple of years its starting to crack, and probably won't last much longer. I can't seem to find another one, so I'm wondering if anyone has found another way of keeping it on a keyring without having to detach it before use, or do you just carry the card loose in a pocket/bag?

Re: Keycard holder

I don't drive every day, so the card stays in a drawer, but it's on a lightweight camera neckstrap with the thin end of the cord around the emergency key. They key is secured with a bit of tape so it can't slip out.
Like this
but with a quick-release.
The OH has hers clipped through the hole in the key, but then you have to take it off every time to fit it in the slot. They're not the type with the hole in the key end.

Re: Keycard holder

Most people drill a small hole in the emergency key for a small key ring - just don't add the keys to the Tower of London on it.

Both I and my neighbour done this - never had any bother.

It's been a while ago I saw some clippies for key cards on the Bay that were more expensive than Renault sold for.

The card I have now already had an hole in for a key when I purchased the car new.

Renault used to sell them for 1 each back when I had my Lag II. But they stopped doing them so had to revert back to finding them on ebay . They do come up once in a while. Probably best to buy a few when they do as they dont take long before breaking (as you've found out).

Having said that Ive not looked for a good few years, not since having to get rid of the Lag II
