Something I forgot to mention was to check that the servicing requirements are the same as for your car (some say 'serviced in accordance with manufacturer's requirements', others set an arbitary 12 months/10,000 mile service schedule). Also check if its an 'inclusion warranty' (i.e. they list the parts they cover only
) or if its an 'exclusion warranty' (i.e. they list the parts they don't
cover). And ensure that it also gives you the flexibility to choose where the car is repaired - you don't want to have to take a broken car a 20 mile round trip if you can avoid it. Some also stipulate that you need to pay first and claim it back, others will pre-approve the repair on the garage's say-so.
Hope this hasn't all confused you, but its an expensive enough outlay, that you will want to know will be there if you need it.
This job should never be complete - the day I think I've done it all, is the day I resign.
