Telboy is absolutely right...
You can have a car under 'new car warranty' serviced by an independant as long as the parts used are of O.E spec or higher(I've never really understood the higher bit.....if you don't use their parts you snookered,basically!).
If the car shows a fault,the problem can be looked at by anyone,bit MUST be repaired by the relevant franchised dealer.If the independant carried out the work you would have to pay for it and if anything else went wrong which was associated (or could be associated
) with the work done,the warranty for that area would be void.
I'd rather push my Alfa than drive a BMW....
