hi there just bought renault scenic automatic does any one know what little button with snowflake at bottom of gearstick is unfortunately no owners manual with car

I would have thought that would be for driving in snow? I have no idea but that would seem the obvious one. It's probably set at a different ratio than 'tothers.

Currently in scatz's garage:
2004 Subaru Legacy GT Spec B, a 2013 2.0 TDCi Titanium X Sport S-Max and a 2001 Honda NSR125R

Yep,it is for pulling away in the snow.It locks the box in one gear so as the wheels spin the box doesn't keep changing up.....I think thats how it works,any way..

Or,it might lock the box in a higher gear.....

It's definately for snow though.

I'd rather push my Alfa than drive a BMW....

Hi, Lagdti is right, its for pulling away in the snow/slippy conditions, the box starts in 2nd gear until traction is detected then it returns to "normal" .... same effect as starting to pull away in 2nd or 3rd in a manual car ... reduces the wheel slip.
