Maybe a weak fuel pump.

Hi, could someone please help.

My Scenic is very temperamental i.e. I'd left her on the drive all weekend......started her on the Sunday evening and she drove perfectly (went for a 40 mile drive). This morning she wouldn't start. It seems if I fill her up to over half a tank she's perfectly fine. Under half a tank and she doesn't want to know.

Please help......... I hate catching buses!!!!!!!

Could also be a blocked fuel tank breather pipe or a fuel cap which is creating a vacuum.

What I would suggest is that once you fill the tank, at the end of every journey 'vent' the fuel cap - this will remove any chance of a vacuum building-up, and just use the car as normal (carry a full fuel can in the boot - just in case), all going well, then you shouldn't have any more problems, and this will indicate where you need to problem-solve.

Hope that helps,
