Question What is this for?

Whilst just having a general clean up and look over of my 52 plate LagII Dynamique, I noticed that the interior trim under the glove box had come loose and dropped down a little. As I tinkered with it and tried to put it back, I noticed quite a lot of loose wiring and after looking closer, found there was some sort of plug on the end... (see attached images). Looks like somebody has tried to stick it down as there was a black bit of tape stuck to it.

Anybody got any ideas what this is for, where it plugs and into what? To me it looks like some sort of audio jack - or similar to the cable that plugs from your sky dish into your Sky digibox (if you have one!!).

Thanks people and Happy Easter!

Might be wrong, but looks like possibly a coax cable to connect to an aerial? Has the car had a Phone cradle fittted at any point?

I agree, looks like an aerial for a phone kit.

I'd rather push my Alfa than drive a BMW....

Mystery cable

I'll add my two pennyworth and agree with what has already said.

My immediate thought, before seeing the other replies, was that it was for an old analogue phone kit. I pulled one out of my BMW recently which looked identical.
