Should I buy a Renault Laguna 1.9 dCi?

Hi everyone, i am looking to buy a 2001 laguna II 1.9 dCi authentique.... firstly would you recomend a laguna, and secondly if so, what should i look for when i buy ?? i had a '96 2.2 diesel a few years ago, and it ran and ran, until the fuel pump packed up... but apart from that it was a solid car...

any input would be appreciated.

welcome to the forum.

Check for service history, check the turbo (1.9DCi was problematic) make sure oil has been regulary changed with good grade synth (renault recommend 18k, wisdom dictates 9k). Check all electrics work ok.

I expect someone will come up with more.

have owned mine for 3 weeks now and very pleased with it, relaxing drive
as above oil changes are a must and would recommend every 10k or less and not the 18k as stated by renault, full service history so that you can check the intervals.
appart from that its the usual ie electrics, brakes the way the car drives
