andrewf4854 I'd do your best to stay onside with the dealership they are little more than go betweens, for RCS to make contact with you, you would IMO be much better off with the Dealerships being Allies rather than OMFG it's him again.

The engines are OK it's the too clever by half electronic junk that is the real problem, the dam electrics seem to be programmed with more reasons to stop the engine than start it.

Who would design a vehicle that falls over when you stop?

If you find a fix for your problem please let us know it will help others.

Hondo, it's not through lack of trying keeping the dealer on my side but after 2 yrs of being treated with complete and utter contempt my patience is wearing thin. I totally agree with you Ralph, the engine is perfect. What could possibly go wrong with a diesel other than the introduction of EU implemented electronics that even the Renault Technicians despise (when they finally admit that's the cause).

My renault which I bought new, in 2011 has a dpf.
Ive had problems with that, of my own doing detailed elsewhere on forums.
The manual itself has no dpf self regen section at all

My last car before this in Europe,non renault, the engine self destructed at 13000 miles from new(cambelt)

When I was buying mine I checked into lots of other makes.Specifically on a 2011 polo diesel, I was told by the salesman : If you arent going to do at least one journey pw, on an open road, in excess of 50 miles..go for the petrol instead.We spend a lot of time doing dpf regens on models that are just being driven around locally.Whether this included other vw models or not, I dont know.

Ive only owned one other renault before a 9 (used) only 2 years old and sold within 6 months,it actually spent some time driving around to collect bits to repair an early audi 80(pos), but it did what it said on the tin.
The koleos is one of the short lifespan models,in the Uk anyway, made in Korea according to wiki ..should be alrite you would think ,but investigate..your rights/amount of time its been off the road since purchased,guarantee etc objectively and see what you can come up with.

Hi coup, at least your dealer advised you of the DPF in advance. I wouldn't have thought it was too much to expect from a salesman in a Renault dealership to advise someone buying a Renault of it's inherent problems. Anyway, still waiting for an answer to my very reasonable offer of leaving the car at the dealer and walking away with a cheque for an equally reasonable sum. Considering what we've been through for the past 2yrs, I think that's quite fair.
