Re: Can i drive after MOT fail or not?

But read the last lines ...

Driving a vehicle thatís failed

You can take your vehicle away if your MOT certificate is still valid.

If your MOT has run out you can take your vehicle to:

have the failed defects fixed
a pre-arranged MOT test appointment

In both cases, your vehicle still needs to meet the minimum standards of roadworthiness at all times or you can be fined.

Also you have been told of the faults so in the event of an accident your insurer may decline a claim saying you knowingly entered a public highway with a defective vehicle

Its a very grey area IMO

Re: Can i drive after MOT fail or not?

No. Your original mot becomes void the minute your car is on the test bed.
Dont take the chance, anyone who can remember " thats life" the tv programme, and watched the episode, will remember the law on this.
This law still is in place, car not fit for the road,....

Re: Can i drive after MOT fail or not?

On that note, i think that has answered the question.
Thank you everyone for your suggestions & input.

This Thread started over 3 years ago & in that time the rules / regulations that apply have probably changed 10 fold,
as it stands today i think the last few posts have answered the Thread very well.
