My girlfriend had a Ford Ka and went through two springs on back left and one on front right. It does seem a common but very dangerous problem.

I never considered all the extra speed bumps etc cars have to go over. I was only blaming the s#!t roads we have over here!!

I got a new one from andrew page auto factors 46 and fitted it, I was a bit quicker this time just under 2 hours.

Looking at the broken coil it looks like an identical break to the OSF.
Are they making these springs out of peanut brittle
Never had one go on the older cars iv'e had.
Just another page in the catalogue faults Iv'e had with this f@@kin laguna.
Yeah I'm afraid this isn't just a Renault issue its an issue that effects most european manufactured cars we bought a 4 year old Focus 2 months ago and the front spring went 3 days later thankfully they did both under warrenty. You should replace both at the same time ideally. From the stories I've heard and my own experience the springs go more often when the car is parked of been standing for a while hence yours in the garage.
