Angry Should I give it back to the dealer!

Bought a 98 Megane cabriolet 3 wks ago had nothing but problems since!

Firstly within 2 hrs of driving of in it was left with hardly any brakes when the brake fluid disappeared out of a leaking pipe. Garage took it back next day and fixed this.

On the 3rd day a loud rattling noise started coming from underneath. It went back again, they said it was just a exhaust bracket that had come off.

On the 6th day the rattling noise reappeared!! I took it to a exhaust garage myself and they said the same it was the bracket and replaced it for me.

Surprise surprise guess what? The noise has just come back and yes had a look under car and you can clearly see the bracket is off again.

Any suggestions why this would keep happening? Have I made a bad purchase? Should I try and get my money back before the warranty on the car runs out.

Welcome to the forum. It sounds as if the exhaust is not aligned correctly, hence putting extra strain on the bracket.

Take it back to where you bought it and insist they repair the car for you.
It pays not to be too rude or agressive with them, just ask firmly and politely - you are much more likely to get the problems sorted than if you go in shouting and ranting at them ( even if that is what you feel like doing).

Tell them that if it is not repaired to your satisfaction you want to speak to the managing director in person to tell him of your disappointment and disatisfaction with the car and you would like your money back.

I recently had my exhaust replaced and three times its been back to the garage having the heat shield realigned. For some reason it keeps touching the shock absorbers (i think dad said!) and the noise is hurrendous.

Simple 2 min job to fix, could this be the case with yours? or are you sure its a bracket? Mine tends to squeal (rather loudly!)
