Are you planning on lowering the car a touch? It may be the angle of the photo, but there appears to be quite a gap between tyre & wheelarch?
You know, I'm really regretting ever mentioning this...what a can of worms to have opened up.
There are some who abhor modifications, there are others who love them (and the way their car is personalised).
Naturally, no-one wants to make their car more dangerous - I don't think that's the point of the discussion. As long as the job is carried out using the appropriate kit (or a professional is involved), it should all be safe enough. Lowering the car does as much for the looks as it does for the car's stability - lower the centre of gravity, you lower the polar moment of inertia, thus the car tracks better on the road.
I can see that cutting corners is a retrograde step - not one I (or I'm sure anyone else) would advocate.
This job should never be complete - the day I think I've done it all, is the day I resign.
