Oil Warning

Hi folks,

I took my Modus dci for an oil change this morning. It's a few thousand miles early but I'm off around Europe tomorrow and I wanted it good before I went.
Anyway, this evening a message has appeared
"Change Oil Soon"

Is this something to worry about?
Is it just a reset I can do?

The oil change was at my local ATS, not the Renault dealer.
(too far away).

Thanks for any advice
I'm off tomorrow lunch time so I need to do something quickly.

You realise that you could have invalidated your warranty if the parts used do not conform to Renault spec.

Also servicing schedules are 1,000 miles or one month any more than that and your warranty is null and void

When the engine siezed in my last Laguna at 48,000 due to a broken valve , the Renault stealer said that Renault would check the oil to ensure that it was correct before replaceing engine, It was ok as they had serviced it , it may be a myth, but I do stick to Elf oil at 5 litre as I have the extended warrenty and do not want to give them any change to wriggle out of any thing, as if they would

I think that you will find the same as I did that your motor is older than you think......the service interval is also time stamped as well as milage. When the change oil soon was showing on mine I went into a bit of a panic, but the knowlegdeable guys on this forum eased my fears. Some short time after this the service light illuminated but it was still a month away from the due date. I contacted my dealer and was told not to worry but to get it serviced by the due date and all is OK. Hope this allays any worries.

Life is too short...laugh and enjoy it while you are able to

'24 hours in a day, 24 beers in a case. Coincidence? I Think not !!
