Renault modus steering fault

hi was hoping somebody could help me with a problem I have with my renault modus. A month ago I turned on my ignition to find I had a power steering fault on the dash. This was also very evident as all of a sudden it felt I was driving a tank. The a came out and 2 faults were diagnosed df002 ecu internal electronic fault and df035 variable power steering. The column was sent of to be reset. It was advised at the time to change the battery and fused battery terminal. All worked well for a 2 weeks then power steering fault happened again. Been told the column is controlled by data not current. The data has been damaged by power spikes. So my question is if the battery has been changed and the terminal changed has anyone any other suggestions what it may be.
