Cool RX4 - ESP & Traction Control Indicator Light

Would kindly appreciate any RX4 owners confirming the info from a renault salesman that in contradiction to the scenic user manual, the ESP & traction control indicator light does not light up on the dashboard, but the only indication is that is in operation, is through the small light on the ESP rocker switch.

For info, have owned a 2002 RX4 1.9 dci for 12 months. Have been really pleased up until recently when now experiencing starting problems, but reading the great postings, assume that the Top Dead Centre sensor maybe playing up. Hope to change it tomorrow, following the advice on your pages.

Many thanks, would appreciate any tips regarding the operating of the ESP system.

There is a rocker switch which you have to press to engauge/disengauge the traction. it resets itself when you switch off the engine. To on or off i'm not sure, but the light is off when I start up.

Cannot switch mine off as an import without the switch. If only I could find a wiring diagram I could install one. Back to the point, the light on the dashboard does NOT light up
