I blame the glass roof - which must weight a bit - the responsive engine - really shifts thro the gears. I drive it like it is meant to be. No problems with it in the few months I have had it' - mind you it only has 12k on the clock and enjoying it very much so. Only negative is the heater could be better. Also had a Meg 2 1.5 DCI for 2 years and a bit - nothing went wrong with it. You only hear of bad reports on the web rarely good ones.
This is true only bad ones reported,my dad has just sold his Megane 2 1.9 dci 2005.103000 miles, nothing went wrong no window faults, turbo or egr issues.Maybe he just got a good one!

If it's anything like the Meg II it's easy to understand why folks play up about the poor heat, take a torch & have a good look at where the footwell heating comes from, I'd guess 2 thirds of it goes to the passenger side the bit that's left the driver gets. Little wonder my OH was complaining "My feet are too hot"

Of course in France where they sit and drive on the wrong side, the driver who after all use's the car the most!! will get the benefit of the heat

Re: Megane 3. Good or bad?

Hi guys
Thanks for the feedback!

Some valid points.

My reasons to not go for another Megane are:
I've had the window mechanism changed on my mk1 at least 4 times. And the windscreen washer pump 3 times I think. The hatch won't stay open by itself and the breaklight housing on the hatch always rattled before it finally broke. It's also noisy at high speed.
Some annoying problems and a few cosmetic issues.

My reason to get another Megane:
My mk1 has never let me down.

My doubts:
Is the mk3 any quiter?
As already mentioned, is the small TCe1.2 115 bhp really up to it?
Is the real mpg of the mk3 the same as my mk1?
