Unhappy Heavy Steering!

hello ppl
just literally half an hour ago. while coming out of the macdonalds drive thru i mounted the kerb (travelling under 5 mph) inadvertantly whilst trying to stop my coffee from spilling over.

In the immediate aftermath of this incident , my steering instantly became very heavy. The tracking of the steering remains unaffacted...

I would appreciate it if ppl cud give me possible diagnoses and with the sort of costs involve in rectifying this

and ps the dangers of not fixing the problem (if any).

thanking u all in advance!

That will teach you to for going to Macdonalds for breakfast - lol. Seriously though, Im sure someone will be along shortly to help with your question.

My immediate thoughts were that the tracking had been moved, but you say thats OK, so not sure.

could be the tracking is out or the suspension took a knock, could also be the power steering fluid could have leaked

If it's a Megane II the steering is electric motor assisted instead of the usual hydraulic pump assistance. Don't know what system the original Megane uses though.
If it is a Megane II it could be a very expensive repair.

The dangers in not getting the problem sorted are pretty obvious!.If the steering isn't working properly, then don't drive the car.....

It could be one of many things, but I suggest you at least have it looked at asap.It could lead to steering failure, and this is not a good thing!.

I'd rather push my Alfa than drive a BMW....
