Your profile shows you driving a diesel car & I wasn't aware diesel cars had cats, just filters?

I assume you're profile is wrong? I agree with looking at getting a custom exhaust + cat - ideally a decent stainless steel system T30?. Some stainless systems are better than others.

Be careful to choose a company/franchise recommended to you. This was the suggestion made to me by a Stainless exhaust system manufacturer who no longer manufacture units for my car and that the performance/quality of the units are very dependent on who actually builds them. Some are very good, some are not. I have subsequently read some horror stories so choose with care!

If the car hasn't got a FAP filter on it I'd do away with the CAT by having a new front pipe made.

I'd rather push my Alfa than drive a BMW....

I think the old shape Land Rover Discovery TD5 diesel engine didn't use a CAT. Can't remember why it didn't, though.
