Immobiliser problem

Both keys on our 2001 1.2 16v Clio are broke I have put in new batterys, had the central locking button resoldered on both, but both broke again, now when you put the key in the red light flashes and it wont/is very difficult to start, sometimes the light does not flash and it starts first time. there is also a problem with the ECU its telling the garage the map sensor is wrong but the map sensor has been replaced. They sell recon ECU on ebay and they say are reprogrammed and you just plug them in and will work ok,no need to have correct keys/ UCH etc has anyone any info about these? Please help if you can this is my daughters car she has just had a C section baby and cant get my other grandaughter to school without the car its driving us all mad!! thanks.

Not too sure on the ECU from ebay I wouldn't bother if it did work you would have no immobiliser.

Could well be the key try them both anyway. The battery and central locking button won't stop the immobiliser functioning but if they are both not working it sounds like it could be the immobiliser decoding ring around the ignition barrel which is faulty.
