I finally got the spring off my suspension strut last night. Hooray!!!!! However, the compression rods are 10cms shorter than the length of the spring. What I***8217;d like to know is if the following compression method would be safe bearing in mind the growing pressure as I compress the spring.
Imagine the spring lying on the floor in a horizontal position. I plan on attaching one compression rod claw on the far left of the spring and the other claw in the middle of the spring. Then, attach one claw from the other rod to the far right of the spring and the other claw in the middle of the spring. This would mean I should compress the full length of the spring.
Does anyone think this method is unsafe for any reason? I can imagine the damage a claw would do if it came off!
Thanks for any advise all!
