The best I've ever had is 99 MPG although I only get this just after filling up with diesel at the fuel station this is at the top of a very long downhill slope, sadly the MPG takes a downhill slide after I've reached the bottom.

Long term average over a tankful on the Laguna (1.9dci 120bhp) we get 51mpg.

On a mostly motorway run of 100 miles (with a few miles town driving each end) at 73mph( set on cruise control which gives an indicated speed of 75mph on the speedo and 70mph according to TomTom gps) we average 54mpg.

If I reset the trip computer when I leave work, the 18 mile journey home leaves me with an average of 74mpg.

The most accurate way to measure your average mpg is to measure it over longer distances - until you do at least 200 miles on anormal tankful you don't really get that good an indication.

My scenic 1.5dci 80bhp averages about 53mpg, best has been about 60mpg and worst is just over 50mpg.

I fill my tank each time and keep a record of the mileage (sad I know) so I'm quite confident about these numbers. The value given on the dash seems to be about 2mpg optimistic but is a good indicator of how you're doing.
