Just another thought, but they might have disconnected the battery to carry out the repairs, and the ECU might have lost it's settings. It has to relearn it's parameters, which might explain it.....but then again......

I'd get it back to the dealers and get them to explain exctly what they did. They might have even left something unplugged,it's a job to know withour knowing what they did.

They will periodoically update software without telling you,as they don't want to alarm their customers that there are potential problems with their new car.I would always make a point of asking everytime you take it to the dealers.

Good luck and let us know the outcome.

I'd rather push my Alfa than drive a BMW....

Probably least of your worries at the moment, but what did they say about the condensation in the headlights?

Condensation in the Xenons is normal ... its even in the handbook, unless its very bad all they do is dry it off and give you the car back .... never did get a satisfactory answer

Hope it helps

Why is it the older I get .... the better I think I was ?

Could the engineer have altered something ?
Hi gareth here regarding the xenon lights they do get condensation in the lenses it tells you that in your hand book it clears when they are on its not a fault on my vel satis they do the same these lights use 20,000 volts on start up and drop down too about 28 volts after that hope this puts your mind at rest Gareth.

Condensation Et al

THey fixed the condensation using a technical fix from the factory so it may be worth asking at the dealer if there is a more formal fix.

In relation to my uppity gear change and engine noise I was asked to return next week.

In view of the fact this is a new car I was not best pleased.

To add insult to injury the dealer also recomended that the faulty infra red headphones (No battery contact) which have been supplied with the rear DVD system should be sent by me to an external supplier at my expense. Not bad for a 1200.00 Renault fittted system.

Neadless to say after speaking to a very nice man in High Wycombe I will be visiting a non REA dealer.
