Re: 2013 Clio - a few questions

no experience of stop start diesels, mine is eco 5 I think but not super eco

Maybe it has to be in neutral, handbrake on ..dunno

The only economy indicator on mine is the gearshift indicator.
On stop start ,just read recently that the 1.2 115 bhp tce fires the first restart spark to the piston thas closest to tdc ..thas pushing for "eco" for sure!(or at least good published mpg figures).

The fuel gauge on mine..
When its full, the first segment shows empty very quickly(8 segments: Theoretically 7-8 litres per segment (60l tank).

From segment 7 to segment 2 it speeds up .
At segment 2 the range "distance remaining in tank" disappears ie Ive never seen below 70 miles remaining on the range indicator.

segment 2 morphs into 1 segment remaining very quickly..ie a lot faster than 7 litres of fuel
Of course you get the beep beep on startup by this stage and warning light.

Next stage is the last segment becomes half full (just outlined .
Last segment 60 miles left if carefull, last segment outlined Id guess 30 miles if carefull , but ive never gone more than 10 miles with it like that.

the indicator probly works on worst case.. ie even if under braking or something the level barely goes to the next segment. itll never go back up till you refill.

Re: 2013 Clio - a few questions

Thanks, good to know. Funny, the start/stop started working fine today, I think today has been cooler, and I had the heating on a little, if you have it set low, the car stays running to keep itself and its occupant cool perhaps.

The warning light used to come on my old one when there was 5 litres left, so around 40 or 50 miles. But in the Clio, 5 litres would go a lot further. I tend to run mine low to get the maximum range per tank, and living rural the cheapest places tend to be quite a drive.
