I got a 1998 Clio 1.4 Rt a couple weeks ago. Iv spent most of my life in nice new lease cars, so to be honest I'm not sure where to set my expectations!
mpg - I drive this thing like an old grandad because it's pointless trying to go quickly, it takes about 9 years to pick up speed. Prob 50/50 town and motorway. I gave her a full tank and at about half tank mark, iv done about 170 miles. Was expecting better economy considering it's only a 1.4. Does that seem low to you?
Tuning - the car has no service history so I don't know how well its been maintained. I plan to give the basics a check or change at the weekend, and thought I'd ask here.
Air filter - worth getting an aftermarket one for better fuel economy? Or is it not worth it? Not bothered about supposed bhp increase, if it gets a few more bhp I went complain!
Are there any clio specific tweaks to help gain better range.
Does this car have a fuel filter?
