Question Latest Renault Espace.

Currently I have an 02 reg Espace which I am thinking of changing for the latest model. I view of the Top Gear report should I even consider buying one as they about 157 down the list. According to this everything is as bad as it can get. I would like to hear the views of the latest Espace owners. Surely it cannot be as bad as they make out.

Get one on warranty and you're laughing. OG's wife runs one and it's a great car. It's had a new gearbox (due to a recall) and some other bits but Renault Manchester have been really good on the service side. Let's face it - they are great cars. See this thread if you have any doubts about their construction:

There but for the grace of God (and Renault) go mine

If I could get my missus to drive something so big, I'd get one next year when her car needs swapping...

Oh - and that Top Gear report. The Honda S2000 is the most reliable, practical car. And how many of those do you see. Pure statistical drivel in my opinion...

I have owned my (Grand) Espace since saturday, having changed from a Galaxy 1.9 TDI Ghia. Love it, love it, love it.

I did buy the 3.0 diesel (petrol & emissions virtually same as 2.2 diesel with a performance closer to the petrol versions). Mine is a very high specced Privilege. The chap who bought it new didn't want the leather seats of the Initiale and so bought a Privilege and loaded it with all the options at the time.

Panoramic sunroof was a must for me.... fabulous. Drive is much smoother than the Galaxy and the power difference huge.

Is it 157 on the list..... don't know, don't really care. I have got car that is great to drive, great to look at and if i am honest, I think great to be seen driving (if you know what I mean).

.... and no, I don't work for Renault Sales team.

Yep, Selwonk's said it all for me really.

Honda S2000 scores higher than an Espace for practicality - says it all about the survey to me

Russell, glad you're liking the car, ours is the Priv too and as you say, the sunroof is great to have.
