I've been behaving myself lately, doing exactly 70mph on the motorway. In some respects, I find it more relaxing (you're not looking out for every motorway bridge for one) but it's not without its problems. There are annoying aspects of trying to stick to the 70 limit, and probably the worst is TTS.

For the uninitiated, TTS is Thrashed Transit Syndrome. It can be any woefully underpowered van, but Transits seem to be by far the worst offenders. You're trying to maintain a steady speed, but the van driver is just batting along as fast as he can with his foot to the floor. He can match your speed on the level and overtake you on the downhill stretches, but he can't keep up at the slightest incline. And that's exactly how he drives.

I can't honestly say that I wouldn't drive it the same, and it must be frustrating to be running around in a vehicle that won't do the speed that you want it to. But it's still irritating to have to keep overtaking and being overtaken by the same vehicle over and over again when all you're trying to do is maintain a steady speed.

Still, not as bad as the car driving numpties who seem to do this sort of thing for fun.

What I hate about driving is our Government thinking that speed cameras are the answer to all road problems yet speed in itself causes only 5% of deaths on the road.

Sorry if it's already been mentioned, but:-

Drivers who brake to almost a stand still on slip roads.....

For the love of god don't brake, your merging with traffic doing 70mph, foot down,

And drivers who brake into green lights.....

It's green... GO GO GO, if you see it hit amber (in enough time) then brake... Don't brake just incase.

And while I'm on, drivers who don't know what the word anticipation means, be it heading towards a junction, round about or whatever....

****Rant over****

when iam towing the caravan there are many drivers out there trying like made to get past me flashing lights and when they manage to do so at some point they give me a look of death that really ****es me off and then 2 miles down the road they decide after all that to pulled in and then later down the same road here they come again and i can tell you one thing they do not get past the second time They seem to think because iam pulling the caravan i can drive as fast as them well i can but i dont for the obvious reasons ive got the hole family on board and iam not putting them and myself in danger for them apart from that i cant preempt other drivers on the roads i pay for my road tax just like the next person so if you get stuck behind me you will just have to wait until the road ahead is clear and then you can overtake me when it is safe to do so and if its safe and the road is wide enough i will pull over to help you past but only if it is safe to do so cheers
