Clio - 172/182 - Pre Purchase Advice Sought

Hey everyone, new to this forum. I dont' own a renault, but am extremely interested in getting maybe a clio 172/182, preferably the 182! i live on Jersey, and there seems to be a few knocking about so shouldn't be too difficult to get hold of one, so i basically want to hear peoples opinions on the 172/182, is it a decent enough car, i can imagine there pretty rapid with the 2ltr under the hood! lol what price am i looking at?!

Thanks very much

Not driven a 172 but the 182 is mega fun - the fastest go-kart you'll ever drive!

I picked up an 05 182 in Black with Cup Suspension and Spoiler packs in pretty superb condition with 20 odd k on for about 8000 a couple of months ago.

Happy hunting, which ever you go for I doubt you'll be dissapointed!

a good 182 with around 20K on it is about 7000 - 8000 depending on what packs are fitted.

If your going for the 182 the be careful as people have been swapping the wheels about which leads to ID problems for what***8217;s been fitted.

Cup Chassis pack was:
Wider track and other tweaks to the under body of the car
Front splitter under the front bumper
Larger Cup rear spoiler

CUP Suspension pack was:
Anthracite coloured wheels instead of silver
Stiffened suspension
Lowered by around 5-10mm

Usually they had the music upgrade too which was the Cabasse headunit
better speakers
Alpine 10 disc changer under the passenger seat.

Some people have bought the Anthracite coloured wheels off e-bay to make the car look better.

Things to look out for:

Burst dampers, both front and rear
Exhaust problems and blown backbox's / rattle from the clamp joint if the system ahs been repaired.
Damage to the Alacantra sued leather part of the seats
It SHOULD have grey mates with a grey edging to them front and back as standard.
Luggage net in the boot
2 cans of tyre foam
Make sure there isn't excessive damage to the steering wheel at the 2 o'clock position or the rubber grips.

What colour are you going for?

If you***8217;ve got any questions on one your going to look at or have looked at etc or want to know more give me a shout.
I***8217;m a bit of a boffin on the RS range

wheels made by oz weren't rigid enough so after bumping an obstacle a bit harder it bent.
