Hi, switch the lights on, and then put he card, do the lights move down then up?, this is called the 'signature' movement, if not then this could indicate a computer/sensor problem, if they do then check the linkages as mentioned before on the front and rear suspension.

Hope this helps...

Hi FrenchFan, have done what you suggested and the lights did move down and then up. Will check the linkage as soon as I can.
Will it be obvious what I am looking for do you know?
Thanks again,

If the lights are moving up and down normally it could just be that the manual adjustment on the nearside one is wrong.

On the front engine cross member above the centre of the headlights is a plastic adjuster screw inside a small recess, use a phillips screw driver to adjust the one headlight correctly.

Did the renault garage say anything about that or did they just say "computer says no"

A problem well stated is a problem half solved !

If you go to Yahoo groups: (you will need to sign on to) vel_satis_uk, then go to Files from which you can download the file Vel_electrical.pdf, this will tell you how to check alignment and many more things. There are also other files which might be of interest which you may wish to download.

Yes those new headlights are pretty fierce aren't they? I suppose they are the motoring equivalent of a 42 inch plasma!Just give them full beam when you meet them, maybe they will get the message!Ignorant #####!
