Help !

Hi All, Im in a fix. I Think my kids have locked my (both) keys in my New Renault Espace. The AA have been and tried using a wire to pull the door handles, but its deadlocked. Im not 100% certain that the key is in there, but ive turned the house upside down looking for it.

What I really need is someone with an Espace to try and deadlock the car with the driver door open, then shut the door, and tell me what happens. Then if the car wont allow this I know to carry on searching for keys.

The only other laternatives are : order new Key (2 weeks from france)
or break a window (sob)

Please help if you have a new espace : what a first post this is

I can't deadlock the car with a door or boot open on my Laguna ( you won't get the double flash on the indicators if a door is a jar )..

As for finding the keycard try you kids toy boxes ( I thought I lost my old Clio 16v keys once, ordered new set from Renault after two days of searching the house - only to find them at the bottom of my sons toy box )..

Keep you key card in your wallet and keep the spare hidden safely in a draw..

Feeling for you dude ( not in a internet perv sort of way you understand )

Its the sencond time they have gone missing and the kids have moved em...

However : the story is at an end : this morning I put a hammer to the rear part of the Drivers side rear door window (166 quid with 30% (AA members bonus) off @auto glass).

However after chucking on eof my kids in the car, no keys!

So another 8 hour search of the house and I find them (both) jammed half way down the radiator (inside it, between the loovres). My daughter (age 3) then remembers thats where they were.

So 166 quid.... I can't say im completly rejoycing this weekend

Oops! Aren't children just a joy!

I suppose it's cheaper than a new set of keys? Not much consolation though!

Could you have claimed on your insurance? Windscreens and glass are usually subject to a 50 xs and do not affect your no claims bonus. You could have easily made up a c**k and bull story, Autoglass wouldn't have been bothered, they get the money anyway, and you get the glass replaced for 50.
